Cartons & pieces Convert a piece quantity into full cartons and loose pieces, or calculate a total from cartons.
Free to use No signup Made for daily workCount full cartons and the remainder Divide the total pieces by the pieces in one carton. The whole-number result gives full cartons; the remainder is the loose-piece count.
250 ÷ 24 = 10 cartons + 10 pieces
If all pieces must be packed in cartons, round up: this example needs 11 cartons, with the last carton partly filled.
Working with pack sizes Can products have different pack sizes? Yes. Calculate each SKU and pack size separately. This tool does not combine unlike pack sizes or change actual stock records.
What about opened cartons? Use Cartons → pieces, enter the full cartons, then enter the additional loose pieces. Total = cartons × pack size + loose pieces.
Pick a quantity from 12-piece cartons
Inputs Choose Pieces → cartons, with 12 pieces per carton and 157 total pieces.
Output 13 full cartons and 1 loose piece. Packing all 157 pieces requires 14 cartons, with the last partly filled. A partly filled carton is different from a full carton in the stock count.
Count full cartons plus an opened carton
Inputs Choose Cartons → pieces. Enter 24 pieces per carton, 7 full cartons and 9 additional loose pieces.
Output 7 × 24 + 9 = 177 total pieces. Repeat the calculation separately if another SKU uses a different pack size.
